Apple Facts:

Where did apples originate?
Several thousand years ago, apples were grown in Asia.

Apples are mostly round in nature. There is a slight dimple at the top of most apples. This is where the stem or top of the apple is. This stem is what holds or connects the apple to the trees.

Medium sized apples contain a generous size amount of Vitamin C. Apples are also a great source of daily, dietary fiber.

Do apples contain caffeine?
No, apples do not contain caffeine. Although, it is said that if an apple is eaten for breakfast, it can really give you a boost, and make you feel refreshed and rejuvinated.

How do I keep my apples from turning brown?
If you are going to cut or slice your apple, and not eat it immediately, just sprinkle some fresh or concentrate lemon juice on them. The lemon juice will keep them from turning brown.

Why are apples associated with teachers?
There are many explannations out there as to why apples are assocaited with teachers. A long time ago, teachers were not paid well. Apples were usually pretty readily grown. So, parents would send apples to school with their children. The children gave the teachers the apples. This was to help with the pay, as teachers were very poorly paid. Another explanation is that apples are usually associated with apple worms. The apple worms are also called book worms. Book worms are very smart and so are our teachers!
